will these wheels fit stock tires?

hey guys I'm pretty new to this site (this is my first post lol) and modding in general. I got my 2011 black gti about a month ago and am slowly saving up money for mods.
anyways I've done some research and have been looking at VMR wheels and other wheels on tirerack. I have the stock detroits, which are 18x7.5 with a 51mm offset IIRC on the stock 225/40/18 tires. I was wondering if I can get wheels like this http://www.velocitymotoring.com/wheels_v701.html to fit stock tires?
however those are just one of the few others that i'm looking at.
also my car isn't lowered (yet)

They'll fit perfectly, in my opinion stock wheels on 225 looks to bubbly. I would go with the 45 offset to prevent any rubbing issues

They will fit the 8.5 fine but your wheel will be more susceptible to curb rash

Yup I'm running 18x8.5 wheels on my stock tires, they work fine.

yep, fit fine. I've got the same size tire on VMR's as well, 18x8.5 +45

Yeah that's a pretty decent fitment. Exactly what I'm running for a few more weeks. Damn winters

Like others have mentioned tires will fit fine with a very very slight stretch.
