What did you do to your MK6 2.5 today?

Ready to race!
Finally got my new kicks in. Mounted, road force balanced, tpms, the lot.

Now just to eventually get lowering springs so the look is complete.

I think what my current mod map is

New shift knob [emoji736]
New shift boot[emoji736]
Winter tires for the steelies [emoji736]
Sequential turnsignals [emoji736]
18” wrapped in summers [emoji736]
Hatch pop kit [emoji736]
Puddle lamps (needs to be coded)
Stage 3 front suspension parts (needs to be installed)
Stage 2 rear suspension parts (needs to be installed)
Rear sway bar/ brace
Lowering springs
Highline BCM
Mk7 style headlights
Led tail lights.

Then break to build back up my spending money for performance mods to engine.



Back is flush and front is just a tad of poke.

TSW Casinos 18x8.5 et+42 i believe. Couldnt go lower et cause of width. I believe thats the widest wheel we can put in the fronts without rubbing issues or modifying anything else.

I have them wrapped in 225/40/r18 gmax as05.

Wana get the ecs coilovers so bad cause they are adjustable from 1.4-2.2” and for a very reasonable price.

Didnt really sink in how much on stilts our golfs are until you get nice shiny wheels that draw so much attention to it.

Ok so I did it!! Changed the map sensor and the pcv thing but.....I broke 1 of the screws that hold the throttle body(while screwing it back in so it's stuck in there) and I broke the clip that connects to the map sensor. I hope it doesn't fall off while driving.

Nah it won't, lots a VDubs driven like this, they make the connectors difficult to remove.

Haven't got to really have any fun with IE stage 2 yet. Got the chance to really wind it out today and just said screw it I'll risk the ticket. Wow. Get this think over 6K and it just takes off. Holy hell. Between 6 and 8.5 it is a rocket ship. Sounds like one too. It went to plaid.

Cleaned the throttle body today and it is soo much smoother. The throttle was getting real jerky with a bunch of other weirdness. Was blaming it on stage 2 but turned out to be a dirty TB.

Fantastic - glad to hear you got things sorted! yeah hearing stuff like this makes me tempted to get a manual trans - but then I think about how much time I'd be driving between 6 and 8k RPM and the cost.... So I think I'll just have to settle in that I can't reprogram the software in the automatic trans and leave it at that.

I can only image though as I get a small sense of this as I come up on 6k RPM.

I read that the MK6 Golf is electronically limited at 130mph - is that in the ECU (which might be removed with the Stage I tune)? or is that in the transmission software?

Mark, contact UM, they were working on a flash for the Auto Tranny to get rid of the limiters, if they did you'd be all set, "Fortune favours the bold".

Oh Hell !!! My Son Reset the Eonon GA6153W Radio back to Factory Settings today to configure it to his liking, now we can't get the OBD11 working again, :eek: and now the documentation and the original Android phone it was setup on are now AWOL. :mad:
