dude and dudett (dubessa)... you guys aren't too far all things considered from me, do you ever meet up regularly in the summer?

Nice Tornado Red sir, love it, but I'm biased. ;)

And isn't one of the only Krispy Kreme left on Mavis Road?

Hey guys, thought id show some updates ive made to my GTI.

So Far I installed
-Front votex lip
-OEM LED Tails tinted
-Tyrol sport shifter bushings
-S3 SS
-Clutchmaster fx350 with SMF

So my installer took 2.5hrs which is really quick, but this guy knows what hes doing as hes seen plenty of clutches lately.

Pedal stiffness: Id say its 10-15% stiffer then stock, its a really nice feel as the oem clutch was way too soft for my liking - you wont get arnold calves from this clutch and you wont even notice it after driving for a bit, i only have 50kms on this clutch and im used to it. Also, the release point is right when you let off and you know exactly where you need to release. I felt that the oem clutch was a guessing game in terms of where i need my foot to be for nice smooth shifts and rev matching. In terms of FEEL alone, this kit was worth the money.

Chatter and noise: At idle with heat on/off, there is a little bit of chatter and you really have to listen to hear it.. turn on your radio and its gone. You can hear it a smidge bit more with AC on but it really is minute. Driving it your motor will have more of a "TDI" sound to it.. not bad at all but if your really sensitive to noise id reccomend the FX350 while retaining the stock DMF. And again, turn up the music to normal listening levels and you wont hear a thing. If you turn off the radio completely you can hold a conversation without any problems or weird noises.

Verdict: The Single mass flywheel adds sound but it gets rid of approximately 11lbs of rotating mass, which is EASILY felt.. the car overall feels smoother to drive and even on initial startup the car used to feel "forced" to start up, now it starts and revs so freely. Rev matching is a breeze athough I havent pushed the car since im only at 50kms with this kit. The feel of this clutch is perfect for a daily, and the little added chatter during driving is worth every second of wheel time with this clutch.. when starting in first gear there is a bit of shudder and it grabs alot harder than the oem unit but im sure it will break in a lot more.. i will voice any new findings anda 1000km break in review as well as any different feelings with stage 2.

The oem unit was glazing over and there was a bit of dust from the pads, pics underneath.

I also installed an 8" jl audio stealth sub with JL's 300 watt micro amp hidden in the spare tire area.. With the stock sound system (no dynaudio) it seriously sounds way better, plenty of bass and the stock speakers are a lot louder with the amp.. highly reccomended if you like your music! I also have JL's bass knob installed beside my ESP off switch for an oem look.

Enjoy

Still to get installed :

Driver gear springs/hotckis f/r swaybars.

So The 2dr manual DG's were installed with hotchkis sways with the front set at soft and rear at medium (copying grambles, here) and the car is seriously PLANTED. The amount of grip this car has right now on all seasons puts a huge smile on my face. No squeaks, rattles or anything, i replaced the strut bearings with new screws and hardware so its smooth as silk. It is a slightly firmer ride and it seriously makes the stock setup feel like shit, i would reccomend this suspension to anyone thats looking for a fun daily with occasional track use, I will post pics of the height when I get the car washed but it seriously looks perfect imo. The car is so flat in turns now :D

Tyrolsport subframe and brake bushings.

The subframe bushings were installed at the same time as the above listed, the car just feels SO solid now and im sure these bushings helped, that and the fact i dont even have an alignment done and the car still tracks straight :) Its good to know my subframe is in place and wont be moving anywhere.

The brake bushings got rid of the "squishy" feel of the stock brakes and it feels like the brakes bite harder then before, im sure once i get new pads and fluid I will totally be satisfied with the stock braking for my stage 2 car.

FX350

The clutch has 1200kms on it and ive put stage 2 back in along with r8 red top coil packs (the stock ones shit the bed) and this clutch HOLD every gear so nicely, the SMF is also a nice added performance benefit as the car PULLS, i seriously cant wait to get an IC and install my TOP along with some lighter wheels, I dont think ill ever see a need for k04.

The clutches chatter is minimal, totally daily driver friendly and it feels like the stock clutch since my foot has adapted. The release point is still high up and im still perfecting my shifts on it, but its getting easier day by day.

Post 1 is updated with some pics of how the car looks now :)

P.S : The clutch is at 5000kms, and is still holding every gear perfectly. Love it and id reccomend the FX350 to anyone needing the upgrade the clutch.

Installed the HPA dogbone mount.

LOVE this thing, slight vibrations in the cabin but they seem to be dying down after 200kms on them so far, the shifts are so crisp and launching this car is so fun now!

Definitely reccomend this mount :)
