Seems kind of foolish to me to stay put with a huge hurricane bearing down on you. Your choice, good luck hope you weather the storm OK.
Thats just it we dont know where it will hit. The only accurate forecast is about 2 days out. It could move 100-150 miles off shore to the east and boom now even being a category 4 100-150 miles off the eye is only about category 2 hurricane conditions.

Thats the reason no mandatory evacuations are in place yet as its just too far out to tell how it will turn. By Friday will be a pretty good gauge of where it will go and Saturday will be the deciding factor on the exact path in regards to Florida.

Roll fenders or bolt on fenders? Thoughts? Lol. Not much in the way of bolt on fenders besides eBay.

Well my initial inclination is to go bolt on to ensure symmetry. My big concern with rolling fenders is how many of them get paint cracks and rust. But if you get bolt on you're going to have to paint those too so I guess the potential paint issues is a moot point. eBay is so hit and miss even on the same product from the same vendor from the same manufacturer lol I still think I personally would lean to bolt on though, unless you pay someone with experience and a warranty of some sort to roll them so you know it won't end up a regretful Saturday afternoon in your garage.

All good points. But bolt on requires cutting fender to make them fit properly. Doing this for function because I scrape so damn much on track. Lol.

Biggest problem is I don't know wtf the rest of my family is doing yet. My mom and sis might take off for michigan since my dad and uncle already had a flight scheduled for friday. I don't think my dad wants to leave so he can get back to the business right away, we got a boat dealership. If every one is staying it's kinda weird to leave them all behind, but fuuuuck this hurricane...We've never evacuated for a hurricane before, but we've never been threatened this much either and with harvey fresh on everyones mind...seems like everybody is conflicted on whether or not to stay. All the signs are saying leave, but we're so used to just boarding up and sitting through it.

Shitty part about florida is there's only like 2 ways out too, so if you wait too long there's gonna be a shit ton of traffic and every gas station on the interstate is gonna be empty or busy as hell.

It sucks to profit from other's misfortune, but I imagine a lot of people will be needing new boats when this is over. I can't say if I would evacuate or not as I've never been in that situation, but from what I'm seeing, this is a really strong storm.

might as well try rolling them first to see if it works.. if they turn out shitty you are gonna cut and bolt anyways(as planned) so its no big deal.

yeah some people are being real assholey. There are a bunch of facebook post from people offering to "help" put shutter and plywood up as like $70 per opening which is ridiculous. and others were offering like $50 per opening with the person paying supplies.
For their half asswork of screwing up plywood because i know damn well they arent gonna bolt and anchor them per code it would take them 5 minutes per window to put the wood over and tak in 5-8 tapcons.

Plus others were "auctioning" off their "extra" supplies and stuff to the highest bidder. So a $300 generator the guy sold it for over 600 to the "highest bidder" instead of getting his 300 asking price to the first person that came. Ive also seen other people offering cases of water(that are 3 bucks) for like 10-20 bucks per pack because they "realized they didnt need so much so they were getting it back to people".

Now at the same time other people are offering their services for free to trim and clean up yards, help put away outdoor furniture and stuff, board windows etc, just those few douches who try and profit off the misfortune of those unable to do stuff themselves.

I think i ruined my engine...

I was just driving around and floored the gas pedal, it downshifted (DSG) back to second gear as usual, but this time it got stuck in second gear and the car just didnt go any faster. Now both the EPC and Check Engine light are on. The car goes barely faster than 60km/37miles, And thats when i have almost fully pressed the gas pedal in. It also starts-up very hard.

Its an GTI.

Follow up on what happened - The car indeed went in limp mode because the high pressure fuel pump gave up, ordered a new one, it will probably be mounted in the next few days.
