New RCD330 Plus Headunit with Mirrorlink/Carplay

Looking at YouTube videos, it doesn't look like the radio itself displays the volume number/level. Does the MFI/MFD?

It just shows a yellow bar at the top of the screen as you adjust volume. No number value and the MFI does nothing with the radio except display time.

Just installed the unit on a 2010 GTI with Dynaudio, and so far, so great! I ordered the headunit, a canbus adapter (just in case) and a rear view video camera (to be installed at a later date). Here are the links to the ones I purchased:

Headunit: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Car...32791999739.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.kANIaG

Canbus adapter: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/RCD...32794050666.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.kANIaG

Rear view camera: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/AV-...32652038028.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.kANIaG

Total price including shipping was 304.27. The unit shippied on 6/9 and arrived on 6/12. It would have arrived sooner but I missed the questions the seller had for me (asking me to specify my make/model/year and current radio). I must say this is a great deal considering the features you are getting. They are all from the same vendor so I have some confidence they will all work together.

The install took about 15 min total including disconnecting and reconnecting the battery (as a general pre-caution but also in case it was required for the Dynaudio). When I turned the car back on I had a couple lights on in the dash (steering wheel, traction control, etc...). I drove around the block and they all went away. I played around a bit with Carplay / Maps / Spotify and bluetooth streaming and all worked well.

Ill post pics and a detailed write up when I do the rear view camera install as that will be a bit more involved. That together with a sound deadening endeavor may just make me love the car even more.

If you currently have an RCD510/310 and have been debating about a headunit upgrade, just do it.

Hi

i just installed the RCD330plus on my Mk6 golf, all works fine . One thing i notice is the FM radio seem like it is not stereo. Can i check with you the provided FM antenna adapter is a 1 wire split to 2 wire >connector or 1 wire to 1 wire >connector.
Mine is the 1 to 1 type like this

What do these units use for navigation/maps? Anyone have a few pictures?
