Assuming these reports are true, some of the Russian soldiers deserve real credit for refusing orders to fire on civilians and being willing to go to bat with commanders about it. On the flip side, the higher ups are going to really enjoy being tried for war crimes...

I realize it's not an easy path, but I could see a scenario like this:
The world sanctions Russia into the stone age
Putin and his closest allies lose power/are overthrown
They are handed over as a condition/bargaining chip to remove sanctions
