I'm finally back into a Volkswagen!

Just bought a 2013 Jetta sportwagen tdi manual trans.

Bought December 16th at 107k miles, mechanic owned and pretty well maintained I might say. Has a brand new intake manifold courtesy of vw.

Picture the day I bought it and filled up for the first time.

Mod list tbd: (I'll update once I make a dent in it)

I've been wanting to get into a turbo wagon for quite some time. Never really came across one in my budget. Circumstances sorta pushed me to buy this a little sooner than I honestly wanted to but I still think I got a great deal on it.

Plans so far are to drive it until the warranty is up in July where all the emissions shit isn't covered. I'll be tuning it and then slowly modifying it.

Currently I am trying to install a cts intake a buddy gave me for free. So far it looks like I will only be able to utilize the elbow and the filter itself to make an almost short ram intake?

I mean let's be real, no one buys an open intake for its efficiency... It's all about the whoosh noises.

Looking at the attached picture it seems I will need to run a breather hose extension to connect onto pipes nipple. I am unsure if I can use the heat shield (not overly optimistic) but free is free. Currently comparing a lot of part numbers between the mk6 gti and mk6 jetta sportwagen to see what I can utilize from my old car.

Plans for vehicle:

Malone stage 2- wound up going MRtuning stage 2. Installed in July.
Modded cts turbo intake (installed 12/22)
Gti rear sway bar
Dogbone insert
S3 short shifter (may go dieselgeek if I find a used one for cheap, but the s3 was perfect for my gti)
Tinted windows (probably 20% in the rear and 35% up front and a 5% brow)
Shocks and springs (still not decided on if I want just oem or lower it)
Led interior lights-installed and then removed cause they kept erroring out. I'll pick up the deauto kit at some point.
Fog lights
Smoked or clear side markers still not sure which ones yet. Thanks to a fellow forum member I'm gonna be shaving them instead.
Front splitter
Rear diffuser
Custom rear cargo area (thinking some nice carpet)
Android auto headunit
Back up camera
Roof rack and cargo carrier (this will be for next year's road trip to Florida with the wife and kid)
Pet/kid seat cover to keep the leather seats clean with the car seat installed
Hatch pop kit
New louder horns (almost got hit 3 times on the way home with it)

Ill update this with the date of install.

Alright I suck at documenting shit so here goes.

Got a cts turbo intake off a buddy who had it on his mk6 gti. Can't utilize the charge pipe so I am just using the elbow and heat shield. Had to buy an adapter and some vacuum hose to extend the breather hose but aside from that everything seems to bolt up just fine including the heat shield. See attached.

Everything fits and it didn't blow up. Sweet sweet induction noises. I'll take a video when I go home.

Honestly wasnt sure if the mounting points would have been compatible. Looks solid.
Yeah after I started taking it apart I got more and and more excited cause all the holes were in the same spot lol.

All the simple intakes I was seeing for the tdi looked just like the elbow and heat shield so I said fuck it and went for it. And then I already knew I needed to run an extension for the breather hose so I just got an adapter and some vacuum hose to extend it.

Congrats on your new ride. My co-worker used to drive one. He loved that car and he was a mechanical engineer and car buff, but the settlement offer back in dieselgate times was so good he sold it back reluctantly. I have an Audi diesel, though 3.0tdi with Malone stage 2 and been driving it that way since I purchased it 4.5 years ago.

Nice, yeah once my warranty is up in July I'm gonna do stage 2 as well. Just don't want vw getting pissy if something breaks and they try blaming the tune.

Had some spray paint and decided to paint the engine cover. It's much lighter and tealier in person. I took the photos at night with my phones flash on. Gonna paint the tdi letters black later this weekend.
