anyone know of any exhaust specialists in the burbs? I saw in post 1 there is a shop in Waukegan, but thats too far for me. I am considering putting the stock CBE back on (getting from Chris / The Butcher) and putting some MF or other tips on it. It would need to be cut and welded. I love the AWE TBE, but I think part of me wants it quieter. I know, I know, its weak... ;)

Arlington Muffler in arlington heights did my magnaflow exhaust on my 66 mustang... you could just have Earl from GRD weld on the tips. he's a pretty damn good welder from what i've seen.

ah, thanks Marc - maybe ill ask them about that, I just know they will probably try to charge a lot, where some other place may only be like $40-$100. Was the Arlington place decently priced?

yea it wasn't expensive at all. to be honest id bring my car there to have a catback installed over any shop lol. something so simple shouldnt cost over $50. go there, or on central and NW highway (right by my house) they have a shop at the marathon station. the owner Joe is a cool ass dude. my buddy used to work there and they have come thru with little things in the past to help me out.

cool, thanks - ill keep that in mind and Velasquez and Sons, cos I basically want to have the tips put on the stocker and then put it on and be done. I'll then sell the AWE CBE.

They told me they dont want to get involved with the custom stuff.

Amazing price & service.. Ask for Tan (like Tom, but with an n), he's one of the owners and a regular at local meets. VAG guys from all over the region (seriously) travel here for exhaust work.
