MDI Cable 2010 GTI

Ready to race!
When I bought my car a few years back it never came with an MDI cable. I'm trying to get the on screen functionality of my RCD510 so I can pause, skip, etc. My version RCD510AC does not allow this functionality from Bluetooth. I know I can buy the cable from the dealer for a crazy amount of money and even then it's for a 30 pin not the new lightning pin cable so I would have to buy an adapter. Has anyone with the same year VW (2010) have any luck with aftermarket MDI cables? I've found some "VW" cables that are already lightning cables, has anyone tried that? Thanks for your help!

I use the VW MDI to 30 pin connector cable with the Apple 30-pin to lightning adapter, and it works great.

The Fixer
Got an MDI lightning cable for my wife's car, it works great. I think any brand will work but you might find a vw or mercedes cable on ebay.
