O2 sensor locations

Found something I thought was interesting and wanted to see if I was just crazy or not.

Are most o2 sensors before and after the cat? The. Only the CBFA has the 3rd sensor on the turbo flang or am I wrong?

On my car the 1st sensor is on the turbo flange and the 2nd is after the cat. I purchased a US spec in Germany so don't know if I have a freak or what is going on.

CCTA engines have 2 O2 sensors. One at turbo flange, and one post-cat at midpipe.

CBFA have one at flange, one post cat at midpipe, and another post cat I believe at downpipe.

This is correct.

no CBFA has one on the turbo itself, one right before the cat, and one after the cat.

This is wrong. :) There are two cats.

It goes 1st o2 in turbo, cat#1, o2 #2, cat#2, o2 #3.

And yes, that is one to many.

Had to bump this for a question. I recently got P0130 code which is the first o2. What tools are needed to remove this o2? Also is there way to have it cleaned rather than replacing it? or should i just replace it.

You can't really "Clean" them...They degrade over time but should be good for 100K. Sometimes they go bad though. You need an 02 socket, or a 22mm wrench..

quick question for someone, i have a CCTA and its been running rough, got CEL for misfires, replaced spark plugs and coil packs, still have the same issue. my dads shop hooked it up to the PC and noticed one of the O2 sensors isn't giving a reading, the other was and seemed alright but one was not. Could it fail without actually throwing a code for the O2 sensor itself, just a misfire code? i have had a few couple stalls on start up, and have to almost manipulate it to get the CEL on by driving around 1500rpm when cold to really feel the misfires and get the light on.
