Just purchased a vag-com cable the other day and scanned my car and got a fault code. Searched forums and found other people with it but no real solutions on fixing it. Help plzzzz

What is your tune? one thing i noticed aboit this fault is its always at low rpm/load.

I too had this fault code but was suffering harsh symptoms.

If the car is running smooth, just clear the code and see if it comes back, if it does, you may have a boost / intake leak somewhere

I'm stage one apr. ok I'll try to clear it today and see what happens

this code has been a nightmare for me. when it throws i lose power and response. See my thread for more info on it than im sure u want to know. Most of it is in the last half of the posts.

just cleared fault code, and it popped back up when i start the car. my boost is ~16-18 psi, and i dont think my intake is leaking. I just messaged apr and they said it is most likely a faulty hpfp and theres a tsb for it. Imma put back my stock intake and go to the vw dealer this weekend

unlikely. But you still need to start with vw to diagnose.

do some googling. this code is a huge issue with REVO, not as prevalent with apr but still lots of ppl get it.

Like i posted; over the course of a year i have replaced my hp fuel pump, fuel pressure sensor G247, in tank low pressure fuel pump, 3 different fuel filters, injector service, basically the entire fuel system and a new ECU. they also cracked the valve cover to check the camshaft.

I just cleared the latest P0088 this past weekend.

Well anyone who's having this issue, and anything out of the obd2 didn't show problems for me until I had a boost gauge

this code by itself wont throw a cel, the power loss associated with it happens slowly so u wouldnt notice it until u clear the code and the power all comes back at once, until the next p0088. not all experirnce the power loss though.

ill post the idle # next time i scan, which is often these days.

Engine warmed up correct?
problem is I too saw correct readings with vcds and any other form of obd II, turned out I had a huge crack in one of my intercooler pipes. A mechanical boost gauge showed the issue

I had this fault before too. APR told me the same thing. I cleared it and it went away. It's been months since I had it (knock on wood).
