Sealant over 3M Vinyl

Kevandra

Ready to race!
Hello,

We're having vinyl advertising affixed to our family vehicle this week (VW Tiguan). This stuff is quality 3M vinyl. I was asked to strip off the wax and sealant previously applied. Done.

Does anyone know how to care for the vehicle once this product is applied? Can I layer Menzerna Powerlock right over top of it or will it haze? I can't imagine that I have to work around the advertising, do I?

I would appreciate the feedback or advice.

Not sure. A quick google search pulled up:

I'm guessing it depends on the quality and texture of the vinyl (glossy vs matte)

I would suggest asking on one of the detailing forums such as detailingbliss.com
or contacting a professional detailer such as Phil on detailersdomain.com

If anything, try it on an inconspicuous spot and see if it hazes or not.

General rule is if it's a high quality, glossy vinyl, you'll be fine with sealant on it.

If it's matte, or lesser quality, then I would keep sealants/waxes away from it.
