Slim Amplified Subwoofers

Hey everybody,

I have the stock sound system, and I really want to give it more kick in the low end.
I don't want to waste any space, so I was looking into the units that SQUEEZE underneath the front seats: i.e the Boss Audio BASS600, Kenwood KSC-SW10.

I'm not expecting big bass punch, just want the sound to be filled out a little better. Does anyone have any experience with these units? thanks.

Seth's right -- the boss unit you linked up there isn't so great, but a proper stealthbox with a real woofer in it will do the trick nicely :)

i had an other kenwood one, with dual 5.25" in y wifes car, it was decent. the newer ones use a igger driver.

also to consider s there are several side mount options that dont lose much space, but they are harder to hide rfom your wife LOL

Thanks for the responses!

I've seen the uber-stealth boxes before, but they seem a little expensive once you add up buying and installing a woofer and amplifier (am i wrong?). Annnd I'm not really looking for that huge low end punch, just a little more "oomph" to fill out my music.

Has anyone tried squeezing any kind of slim unit (like the ones previously linked) in a gti?

i have no experience with the units like you linked above. but in the long run the stealthbox would prolly be a better deal. IMO i would spend the extra money (for amp, wiring, etc.) because if you ever wanted to get more out of it you could tune it to your liking an get way more bass (if you want). remember you get what you pay for, the smaller units might be inexpensive but theyll sound that way too.
