Knife laws have been stupid in the UK for decades....I used to sell Victorinox stuff...

It used to be anything with a locking or fixed blade longer than 3inches you had to have a damn good reason for carrying in public.....

Unfortunately after 9/11 airlines/trains/busses etc & their police were taking & arresting people for having those mini key ring Victorinox knives that have 1 inch blades....but as you are on their property/plane/train/bus they can do what they want...

About 10yrs ago they enforced the laws so that if you sold locking or fixed bladed implements longer that 3inches you had to apply to the council for a licence to sell them...so that included chisels, cooking knives, bush machetes (gardening), etc...


Still the biggest used knives in crime are "zombie" type bought from the web & kitchen knives...& the liberal idiots make it nigh on impossible to carry a useful multitool as an EDC...

I have a locking 3.5inch SAK rescue tool in my cars arm rest which could be deemed "illegal" but I'll happily fight that in a court of law as its a rescue tool with glass punch, glass saw, seatbelt cutter etc..& I have previously had to escape an overturned car...so means/needs outweigh any "law" as its in my car & not illegal to own or have privately.

It is so sad to see some people in this thread spewing hatred while saying "I'm not a racist".

They've obviously overlooked the fact that racism is a subset of the greater "discrimination" and in order to function as a society, we need to recognize our own prejudices and overcome them.

Every single person here that has said " white people are racist", "ragheads", "retard", "I hate cops" and a slew of other idiotic statements needs to step back and recognize that those are discriminatory statements and just downright wrong. Using such terms "in jest" or "amongst friends" is equally vile - because it really indicates that this is how you think.

I challenge all of you to take a deep look inside you and say "I'll do better".

Making blanket statements about a group (either positive or negative) is just plain stupid and wrong. We can do better - even in this section of the forum.

The most people killed by a knife in one incident of mass murder is 8, if you rule out someone stabbing mentally handicapped people.

In vegas 61 were killed in a matter of minutes, with 400 hit by gunfire.
