Well, so far I've only done the windows up with the remote mod, considering turning off the DRLs to prolong the life of my bi-xenon components, maybe switching to the fogs instead?

Looks like you are right, but what's the difference between having CAN only or having both HEX + CAN ?

Micro can can only do cars based on MK5 technology so can't do any cars before a Mk5 whereas the Hex Can is fully backwards compatible.

Steering assist change

Got a Blue Graphite 3dr Gof 2.5 Sportline (Canadian Car) :happyanim: and am looking to do a couple of vagcom changes. This thread has been awesome. Just wondering if there is there a way to reduce the steering power assist through a vagcom setting? If feels a bit to light for my taste. I recall seeing a way to change on a MK5 Golf but can't seem to see if there is a way on the MK6.

i've been looking for this too. i don't think it's possible though from what i've read around the net.

What do you mean by cornering lights using fogs?

On vehicles with factory fog lights, the 09 - Central Electronics (BCM) module can be coded to enable this feature. When you turn the wheel -or- turn on the turn signal (depending on the coding selections) the fog light turns on that side of the car.

This deactivates at higher speeds, perhaps over 15 ~20 Mph, but don't hold me to that value. Also see the "--- Lighting ---" section in my Mk6 thread for the coding.


This is not the same as the Xenon AFS "steering" lights, or the Corner Lights feature. The Adaptive Frontlight System is controlled by the Xenon module ( Address 55 ).

I just run Vag on my car and found some error can someone help me to figure it out?
The problem with my parking light is because i replaced it with another bulb so it's through codes so it's fine but i don't know what wrong with the cornering lamp and the electrical malfunction ??

Stationary Right Cornering Lamps aren't installed in the Golf, so it looks like the 09 coding is messed up. You may have a bulb check issue beyond any "cold lamp diagnosis" coding tweaks if they aren't resistor style bulbs.

Please edit that to include the complete module ID, or better yet, post the complete Auto-Scan. If you have the original coding please include it.
