What did you do to your MK6 today?

CEL went away on its own 🤷‍♂️

Wonder if my tstat or sensors might be on their way out. Have recently noticed some wonky temp gauge fluctuations prior to full-warm.

Got around to installing an IE 3" catted DP, took about 3 hours with hand tools and I do enjoy the extra hp it opens up. Can't wait to get the tuning setup for the engine and DSG.

Finley got rid of stock shocks/struts and got Bilstein B8's paired with my drive gear springs. Thank you Snowboarder Dan and The Bruce for all of your advice in these forums

That is a great combo. You would be happy with that setup.
I have about an inch gap all around and if I hit a bump/pot hole it is much smother, less harsh. I replaced my front bearings while I was at it because, you know, it's all apart and all.

I did the front bearings along with the struts last week so today I replaced the passenger rear bearing. Not as eazy as it seems. They come in 2 sizes for the MK6 Gulf: 30mm or 32mm so tell the parts guy your VIN # to determine which one you need. The axle bolt has a few verities and your tore setting depends on which type of bolt.

I should keep this in mind, thanks for the details. I've had B8's and some AST springs - ASTLS-14-2448 (see here since they're no longer listed at ECS) - in a box for a couple of years now waiting for install with what *I think* is all the hardware needed for install incl. bearings etc.

Well life got the better of me for awhile, and my car isn't much better. I nicked my fuel line in march, and my turbo has started failing as of a month ago--I get a high-pitch screech under heavy load in boost. I'm fairly sure it's shaft play causing the impeller to get a haircut from the housing, but I'm just guessing. I have a spare turbo off my second motor, but it's got twice the miles (80k) as my failing one (40k) so it's not exactly a great move. My hope is the failure was somehow linked to the 2015 GTI turbo failures, but I'm unsure: I am using a 2015 motor/turbo, but they're from a CC so it's the same motor/turbo as a Mk6 GTI.

I swear it's harder and harder to justify this car. But then I'll look out at it and feel better. And if I could do more than 30% throttle without killing the turbo I'm sure I'd love the drive still

But anyway, today I put on yet another passenger skid tray! No more dragging wires. And I emptied, cleaned and vacuumed the full interior this week; really improves the mood when there's not junk in the trunk and dust everywhere.

The Bilstein B8 struts come with built in bump stops. But the shocks for the rear did come with new bump stops so I used them. So far I'm loving it (my combo of the B8's with the Drive Gear springs). The drive gear springs are no longer produced so now I'm considering the VWR springs which you can still get. So far my DG springs are holding up and I don't see myself switching them out.

On Friday I replaced my rear left wheel bearing. So that's it now I've replaced all 4 of my wheel bearings and I must say the car is much quieter now. I replaced the bearings just because 100,000 + miles and I had the wheels off, hubs apart, etc, etc. I'm OCD like that. I'm glad I did it though.

I bought the SPULEN block for my mk6 GTI, will be picking it up at the store soon, should solve my clutch pedal sticking half way during cold start.
