You can certainly contract out security along with most other functions, but it has to be to the right people. The problem is that companies bid for, and get, a contract and then they go look for people to fill that position.

My wife might be going back to work 2 years after she quit her job.

I'm hoping it works out, I want to finish building the GTI and I really want a 1970's Alfa Romeo Spider really badly.
