DD brake pad suggestions

So why would the rears need replacing before the fronts?
Because you use to drive slow and brake softly. ;)

Brake distribution on modern cars like the Mk.VI depends on how hard
you decelerate. 50/50 on mild braking, 90/10 on emergency braking -
somthing like that.

When I use the brakes, it starts to make a grinding noise at slow speeds. More like a dust build up noise. My fronts are thick as hell. Should I replace front and back at the same time?
Not necessarily.

Generally braking little harder from higher speeds from time to time
is a good idea since this provides some kind of self cleaning the brakes,
ensuring proper performance and lower moise.

Stock rotors fine with these? Or do I have to replace rotors?
Stock rotors should be fine. well most people only do pads, lines, and fluid.
so stock rotor should be good enough.

Nice! Let us know how you like them after running them for a couple weeks.
Yea! This is my first time changing the pads myself... hopefully everything will be smooth. I just need to rent the tool at Oreilly. lol

definitely good enough

Pads and caliper bushes are by far the most noticeable.

Bruce, what do you recommend for a street only pad that maximizes pedal firmness and initial cold bite? I’ve tried stoptechs and was unimpressed at how they lose pedal feel a few days after bed-in. I’m concerned endless mx72 pads need heat from an extended spirited run to perform effectively and may be too aggressive for just daily driving.

I’ll never take my car tracking, I just want a quality pad that gives a firm pedal and has great initial cold bite. It seems logical that most OE pads should be tuned to provide good initial cold bite and pedal feel, if at the expense of max operating temp. But I’ve found that the mk6 OE pads are lacking at everything, from pedal feel and cold bite to MOT.

To be honest, you won't transform pedal feel with any pad.
There are differences, but these aren't night and day.
Endless SSY are dedicated street pads and even the MX72s
are more street than track compunds. I wouldn't worry as
these are among the very best money can buy. Simply put,
that's why they are expensive.

Regarding pedal feel, the greatest gain is from Tyrol (USA)
and Evolity (Europe) bushings. Next point, keep your brakes
in proper condition. Frequently clean and grease guide pins
(plastilube) and caliper/pad guides (Pagid ceramic antiseize).

Endless MX72 it is then. I already have the tyrolsport caliper bushings installed, I'm leaning towards trying out their master cylinder brace as well. thanks for the input bruce, much appreciated.

Guys I have to disagree with all of the negative comments on the stoptech pads. I think I have a great bite, with Tyrol the pedal feel is leagues beyond oem, and I don't have a dusting problem. I'll add that I have a similar experience with my wife's audi s4 that was recently upgraded with stoptech pads and Tyrol bushings.

I can't comment on track performance but will recommend anyone going to the track use a proper pad....I had my oem pads smoking like a chimney after a track weekend and that is what drove me to upgrade to stoptech.

I'm glad to hear that someone likes them. I have these on my short list of things to get but this thread has been pretty harsh on the stoptechs. Still keeping my options open though I guess.

Don't get me wrong, the Stoptechs perform well. I ran them at Big Willow and they took a beating without complaint. Pretty much my only complaint about them is the dust. Maybe you got a lucky set or something but mine dust A LOT.
