I just called VW, they checked my VIN and said there is no warranty extension for the water pump on my 2012 GTI right now. Intake manifold and injectors are covered for me though.

What year do you have and how many miles?My VW dealer was up my butt to do the recall fix on my car when I went for an oil change, however hearing that the new ones still had issues and my current one does not, I elected to not perform the repair yet. They weren't too happy about that, but so was I when I wasn't in the mood to give up my car for a loaner for the weekend.

Will do. I haven't thought much of it because it's been this way for years and there's no trace of coolant on the garage floor. But I haven't taken a close look at the radiator.
