i can understand you not liking the JK's they are extremely overpriced, and one of the things that made me love my jeep is that it is bare bones and rugged...the 4.0l was a great motor minus the gas mileage and i think they should have refined it more than the complete change for the jks

I will always dislike all things Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth, with the exception of the Prowler (looked kinda cool), Stealth (Mitsubishi), and Viper (not very many Dodge parts). Everything they make is pure crap. Cheap materials, cheap design, cheap manufacturing, makes for a poor excuse of a car. I don't even want to drive near one on the road.

Now that I've made my disclaimer, the 4.0L inline 6 cyl. you mention, may have been one of the better engines that they have produced. I had a friend who drove a Jeep Truck with that engine, and he got 250K miles out of it without major problems. The rest of the thing was a heap. I've heard from many that engine was known to give that level of service. And your right, too bad they didn't refine it, like Chrysler always does, screws up anything that might have had potential.

If it wasn't for Mitsubishi, Chrysler would have gone down the tubes a long time ago. Heck, even buying AMC a long time ago helped them be a hanger on.

2008 Mini Cooper. Awful car. It had far too many reliability problems (mainly electrics), no power and the interior ergonomics were dreadful.

2005 Mustang, just a V6. I loved that car, still do, but wanted something quicker, not automatic, better mileage, with a bit more room. I raced one with all the exact same mods that mine had on the freeway a couple weeks ago and absolutely smoked it :happyanim: Still miss that car though, it was my first.

my immediate car before the gti was a 2010 civic si. it was a pos and had to have the transmission rebuilt 4 times. honda of america blackflagged all trans claims for that vin so bye bye civic lol i never wanted it in the first place. it was the best deal.

before that i had a 96 thunderbird - swapped the 4.6 for a dohc, all forged aluminum internals, 250 shot nitrous. parted the motor and trans to a guy building a mustang, bought a $150 motor and trans from pick and pull, and got 4500 from the government for my "clunker"

and before that a 2002 camaro ss - swapped the ls1 for a 427 and supercharged it. drunk driver hit me and totaled it :(

gti is fun, but I'll be going k04 by this time next year :)
