In WRL GTO class you pretty much either want one of these, or the M4 GT4. The torques give great drive off the corners - even the beloved Cayman GT4CS struggles to keep up. And just about everything in the upper classes are sans-man-pedal.

Racing (actual racing) might be the one place where paddle shifters are preferred. They ARE faster around a race track PLUS there is significantly less chance of having a shitty teammate blowing up your car with a money shift (have one guy on my team that's blown up 2 transmissions and 2 motors this season because of 9000rpm downshifts....)

Now.... that all said... my best buddy and (as of recent, former) teammate is contemplating starting up a new WRL team.... and we are looking at finding a 997.1 GT3 Cup to run. Already spoke to Goldcrest about a support contract, we can detune the car to fit the power/weight rules + the motor should theoretically last forever. Go from a ~40 hour rebuild cycle to a 140+ hour rebuild cycle if we dial the power and rev limit back.

Should be able to pretty well stomp the BMWs then :)
