That a Unitronic? If so, and its like the GTI method, I have mentioned this issue many times. The Uni has no isolators. It is hard mounted at all points. Engine moves, intake cannot. Things crack. Bad design.

Funny you mention the intake... Looking in there I noticed that it cracked near the welds for the screw that attaches to the engine.

Yes it is. Uni warrantied it and the replacement had the pylon reinforced like 3 times as much. They also explained that over/under torque-ing can exacerbate the cracking issue. Should 7 ft/lbs. No more. No less. I am pretty sure it was way over-torque-ed when it was installed. I'm not defending the design but I do feel this is the best intake for the R.

In other news, my rear-diff coupling/guibo/harmonic balancer/whatever-you-want-to-call-it has been replaced under warranty. I just owe the $100 deductible that my "platinum" coverage has.

Next week I'll get the new white-line end-links installed and have my sway bushings greased.

I'm thinking the ECS, TPMS, Airbag, and steering wheel may be related to a bad ground as was suggested to me by another R owner on Vortex. The misfires may be due to carbon buildup but time will tell.

i'd check with the humble mechanic on youtube. hop into one of his videos and make a comment asking about it. He works on VW's every day.

or just contact him maybe for better luck in a response.

Updates:

Turns out the weird electrical issues were from the faulty wheel speed sensor. Had it replaced and all is well.

Had whiteline Endlinks installed when I had CB Tuning "attempt" to grease the bushings on my VWR sways. Yes, "attempt" is what they put on my bill because apparently they were unable to grease the fronts because VWR makes it impossible to service without cutting off the bushing housings. I've emailed VWR about this and their solution involved having CB Tuning hack up the original parts and replaced with VW OEM parts with some Jerry rigging involved. Not thrilled at that prospect. Reason for all this is the sways are squeeking like crazy going over bumps.

Lastly, I've looked into getting out of the R due to high mileage and the prospect of having a 100k mile car out of warranty while continuing $600/mo payments. I'm still underwater and there is no other car that fits my needs better so I'm doubling down on it and adding more parts to the mod list:

-NEUSPEED charge/discharge pipes
-CTS intake heat shield (the one behind the engine)
