Highest mileage GTI on here?

2 years 120,000 miles. 0 problems. Stage 2 Apr from 10,000 miles. Just did timing chain and First intake valve clean last week.

Wow, and I thought I drove a lot.

Currently sitting at 118k. All the history is in my build thread.

I always believed the more you drive a car, the better it is for it (as opposed to sitting often). But you take that theory to a whole new level :laugh:

120,000 miles on a VW is like 50k miles on a Honda.

Other way round. 200k on a honda is like 20k on a vw.

Wow that is crazy, we have someone in a tdi that drive that much daily too.

I see more beat up, old, high mileage civics and accords on the road than I do VW's.

Was it the timing chain tensioner you replaced? What made you do it?

I just felt it was time. no running issues or weird noises. Just too many scary stories.I did the tensioner and the chain.

I had waterpump noise once, but could never replicate it at the dealership.

besides that, no issues. and i'm stage 2.

'11 GTI dsg, just hit 50k miles

past yr, replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, and water pump (some covered by dealer)

hoping to hit 100k without major probs!

I see more beat up, old, high mileage civics and accords on the road than I do VW's.

Who wants to drive a beat up Honda?
Looking at a high millage VW may look like a low millage VW.
Can't tell by looking at the outward appearance.

Well you can just tell by the model.

I never see any VW's on the road older than MK4.

I think i've seen 2 MK3 jettas in a year. The rest are probably in the junk yard or on the side of peoples homes not running.

lol, I hate VW slogan of, something like, More Cars on the Road with over 100,000 miles than any other brand.

Really? 100k miles? Are they trying to state it's an achievement to get over 100k miles these days? In fact, if you don't hit 100k miles, you might as well quit the industry.

I understand they are probably the largest automaker in the world where they can claim that on pure quantity but it's not all that impressive of a mileage point. Perhaps if it said 200k it might have more meaning to it.

2011 GTI DSG, APR stage 1 W/ Stage 1 Carbonio since 36,XXXKM

Autopilot V2 performance air lift since 35, XXXKM

Only issues I encountered as of new is
-Navigation/Radio stopped working ( warranty)20,000KM roughly
-Front leather seats replaced under warranty due to early wear ( 9,000KM)
-Front Headlights filled with water and fried Module ( 10,000KM)
-Front Tire side wall bulge on Detroits (800KM new)

Other than that, shes been a good little car.

This is a high mileage thread...you are talking 22k miles. Still under warranty and you've had more problems than both my cars (2010 K04 with 85k).

This thread is giving me motivation to go for a K04 setup soon, probalby at 60k miles.
