Been a while since I’ve updated my build thread parts list and posted some updates here as all of my updates are posted daily on IG (@becauseHYDE16). The GTI has been “under the knife” so to speak…

Spring Changes:
-got the car back over the winter, finished all the Torqbyte fuel management wiring for the port fuel injection and many other finishing touches
-went into the body shop to have the front bumper re-shaved and fenders painted, added front splitter, rear spoiler extension lip and exhaust diffuser
-spent nearly 3 months driving it around home to figure out how to pass emissions and finally passed with the right combination of software and exhaust setup
-drove it over 400 miles to finish the engine break-in, swapped out the break in oil and sent for analysis at Blackstone Labs (report was great)
-added Corbeau seats for some serious weight reduction
-added TTS master cylinder
-sold my 18x8 wheel and tire setup, new shoes on order
-while waiting for new shoes I decided to lace my Wilwood rotors with safety wire and add new rear Hawk HPS 5.0 brake pads
-decided to swap out my rear springs out from 285 progressive to Swift 400lb linear springs

Next Up:
-data logs with updated Eurodyne BT file / turn on port fuel tuning
-polish/detail entire car for show season
-AEM failsafe methanol gauge, new methanol distribution block, methanol tuning
-transmission build
-powder coat rear control arms
-other changes

were the seats a pain to install? How much weight do you think was saved from them?

They look really comfortable.

Corbeau's are definitely on the list. I don't want to lose heated seats though. I wonder if Corbeau's optional heated seats can be made to work with the VW switch or if I have to use their button thing.

Keeping this thread up to date, several changes over the past few weeks; full photo coverage posted on IG @becauseHYDE16

-ZZP Opel injectors swapped out for 8V S3 / MK7 Golf R injectors (slightly less flow but better spray pattern and drivability)
-Turbosmart diverter valve installed
-Engine bay topside fuel line converted to PTFE SS -6AN line & port fuel injectors connected
-New 2-stage Aquamist water methanol layout installed (post intercooler jet vs. direct port methanol jets)
-AEM AFR gauge removed, Innovate ECB-1 installed to monitor ethanol %, fuel temp, 4-bar boost, AFR
-Neuspeed turbo outlet pipe extended to remove the OEM green o-ring gasket connection to the Pag Parts true FMIC
-All worm gear clamps from the turbo compressor outlet through the turbo outlet pipe replaced with T-bolt clamps
-Throttle body coupler worm gear clamps replaced with T-bolt clamps
-New Eurodyne file with CAM 2 timing map smoothed out, revised LPFP duty cycle MAP and revised N75 duty cycle MAP for HIGHER boost (~26psi)
-New Torqbyte GPO1 MAP to support higher boost with twin 1,000cc split stream Bosch EV14 injectors
-New Torqbyte MAIN MAP to provide cooling through the 1.2mm Aquamist post intercooler jet (triggers at 8-10psi)
-New Torqbyte GPO2 MAP to turn on the second stage of water methanol through direct port Aquamist jets (triggers at 20psi for now)

Time to continue logging and watching AFR to dial in port fuel so we can keep increasing boost levels to 30+ psi. The car is an absolute monster.

Next up, 2K mile engine break in sample of Brad Penn racing oil going out to Blackstone Labs and Brad Penn’s lead engineer for results and future oil recommendations and the Ecliptech Shift-P2+ installation and review.

What wire did you tap for the rpm signal for the CM5? Have a pic? Currently installing dpi and want to upgrade from my AEM controller in the near future.

I tapped it off the the ECU wire as per the Torqbyte diagram but they have a new method of building a harness off of the cam position sensor which I'm looking into.

Could you talk a little about the innovate ecb-1?

Also could you go into a more detail about the opel injector driveability?
